Thanks for replying.the PC end is working fine, the pinnacle tv card is working fine and the recordings are goint to my hard drive as usual and i can watch them back on the PC.The show centre unit powers up but during the power up the green 'power' LED flashes briefly red, and returns to green. The unit then displays the set up screen on the TV as per initial set up, the one with the choice of wifi etc set up, and asking which server or pc to connect to. The show centre remote control has no effect at all i.e no control, but if i leave the show centre unit switched on the screen saver eventually comes on. I have disconected the show centre from the mains supply over night to see if it looses any sort of bad memory effect ( i was clutching at straws by that stage) i have renewed the remotes battery i have even tried another pinnacle remote (the one for the tv card in the pc - its an identical remote and has worked in the past) all to no avail.Pinnacles advice was 'send the unit to germany for repair and if it is beyond economic repair we will scrap it for you'. Very helpful. Once again thanks for replying.the only control of any kind I have over the main unit is to turn the show centre unit on or off by the on/off button on the unit. If i leave it 'on' long enough the show centre unit goes into screen saver mode (the one with the show centre logo floating around the screen x 3), but again the remote will not 'wake it up' or cause any other function to work. If i then turn the unit off at the on/off button, its back to square one with the initial set up screen, until the unit reverts to screen saver mode again.I do have a 'one for all' -'mosaic' programable remote, but i cant find the programme code for the show centre to try it. I did try the other pinnacle remote i have, but it has no effect.any suggestions?

I tried the suggestions, but with no luck, so it seems like it could be the IR reciever, I will take the unit into soemwhere to have it looked at. Then depending on the cost to repair it will either have it repaired or replace it.Due to this being my second showcentre to fail i am not in a rush to replace it with a third one. Anyone got any suggestions as to a replacement? I have a pinnacle TV card and was quite used to using the pc as a PVR, i originaly went for the pinnacle because it allowed me to do that, whereas the,at that time,equivaliant D-Link model would not.Also i have considered replacing it with either a TOSHIBA RD97DTKTB or a SAMSUNG DVD-SH855M HDD recorder and keeping the music files on the PC as a seperate item. Anyone got suggestions?
